Am I the right therapist for you?I understand that looking for the right therapist can be time-consuming, so let me share with you some basic information about my background and personality and see how that feels like: I was born in Athens, the capital of one of the most beautiful countries in the world, Greece! I don't know if it is in my Greek genes, but from a very young age I have developed an insatiable curiosity, a deep admiration and a great respect for the ways the human mind, heart and psyche unfold. Always wondering, always helping, always thirsty to learn the whys and hows. Psychology became my calling. I feel so blessed and grateful to have been able to turn my passion into my profession. While studying, I have worked gaining valuable experience from other professional areas, like tourism and translations, teaching and office administration, before I finally qualified as a psychotherapist in the year 2000 (Bachelor (BA) degree in Psychology, a Master's (MA) degree in Clinical Psychology and a Diploma (Dip) in Family Systems Therapy), Externship in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). Apart from my mother tongue Greek, I have studied and speak fluently English and French, which enables me to work in all three languages. I am a MBACP registered member (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I adhere with the Associations' Ethical Frameworks. During those past 20 years, I have gained a lot of experience working with individuals, couples, groups and families. I have also participated and organised various seminars on work & life balance, as part of EAP (Employee Assistance Programs) for various organisations. Today the focus of my work is mainly on Individual and Couples therapy while every so often I organise seminars and workshops on relationship issues. |
